One thing that I really enjoy doing is teaching. Sharing my love of photography with others. Whether it be in the classroom, or out in the field, there’s something really special about being able to share something that is such a huge part of my life with a group of like minded people.
I don’t get the opportunity to do it as much these days, but I always enjoy getting out and about in nature with other photographers. It adds a new dimension for not only my appreciation for not only the place I call home, but the different ways in which photographers view their surroundings. For a number of years I used to run photography tours for the guests at the beautiful Thala Beach up near Port Douglas.
I would head up there in the dark, before sunrise, and meet keen photographers from all over the world to head out and explore all that this beautiful part of the world has to offer.
The highlight for many was the beach. Probably goes without saying really when you look at the picture above. Palm-tree lined, untouched and spectacular during any weather it was always an absolute joy to ‘go to work’ in a place like this.
